Bro we got the same problem. I'm also buying one but then still undecided. I've asked an American friend and he said go for Nikon as he got one but then the porma of Canon make me think about it so let us see. Juz update me when you got yours already, cheers! Thanks and happy holidays

Hi Lex,

It depends on your needs and budget. Will you be using this professionally or for personal use only like a hobby and for social and family events. Let me know your budget and shooting style or preference.

Hi Eric, I think you got the right ideas for a purchase. Okey my budget range is 40k to 50k and I want it professional series but I will use it only as a hobby because I am not really a photographer but lover of nature as I can sae lalo jan sa atin. I go for porma which I foun in Nikkon and Canon. I knew as well that Olympus tops the number one place recently if you are updated with photography events but then di ko gusto ang porma kaya I'm still undecided which to buy. Your advice will be highly appreciated thanks much and happy holidays!

Hi Norman,

I'm a professional photographer and let me share to you some information that may be helpful regarding your decision.

1. Nikon is the number one seller right now of digital cameras in terms of sale.

2. Canon 40D would squeeze in to your 40 to 50k Budget.

3. My first SLR was an Olympus but service and parts are not readily available and not as good as Nikon and Canon.

4. 90% of professional photographers use Canon but the remaining 10% are Nikon users, usually the top photographers in the industry.

5. I'm using a Nikon dslr and I find it to be more user-friendly than Canon. You can operate it without reading the instruction manual. That's how easy it is to operate.

6. Photography is an expensive hobby and you will end up upgrading or investing in lens as your progess and learn more techniques.

7. I recommend you save more and just buy a Nikon D90. It also has a video recorder and has a better kit lens compared to Canon.

8. Buy in Quiapo

Hi Eric, good afternoon and happy h0lidays!

I think you're right Nikon will be the best buy. I had almost bought the D60 model months ago but then D80 ($850 ) and D90 ($1300) and also D3 ($6000) and D300($2000) (these 2 were 2 steep) comes out of the market here in Europe which makes me undecided till now. And hearing the nice advice from a professional I'll go for D90 which I really like medyo kasi di ko mabili weeks ago ksi nga sa price difference and wala s budget range ko but thanks much for your advice.

Have a nice day,

n0rman
